Program Description: 

 

The Sophomore Career Exploration Internship gives undergraduate sophomores the opportunity to gain valuable work experience at a unique institution.

Through dynamic, project-based work assignments and professional development activities, students get:

* Access to learning events with senior leaders from the New York Fed, giving them direct insight into the public service and financial services world 

 

Sophomore interns work in one specific business area or function for ten weeks, and have access to opportunities for collaboration with other students and employees from around the Bank.  

 

At the end of the program, students leave with strong skills, professional connections, and meaningful experiences that will support them in their long-term careers. 

 

Our Unique Work: 

The Legal and Compliance Group comprises of 3 separate and distinct Functions: Compliance, Group Operations and Strategy, and Legal.

Internships will be available in the: 


* Compliance Function: Identifies and assesses risks related to the failure to comply with the Bank's code of conduct, internal policies, and regulations principally associated with anti- money laundering, U.S.

economic sanctions compliance, fraud risk, sensitive data management, trading operations, and other restrictions related to employee conduct. 



* Group Operations and Strategy Function: Provides the Legal & Compliance Group with resources and strategies in furtherance of group and Bank objectives through its three business units: Business Operations and Strategy, GOAS Prime Services, and Risk Management and Contingency Planning. 



* Legal Function: Provides effective, efficient and client-focused legal services to the Federal Reserve Bank of New York.
