Floor Technician
JOB SUMMARY: The primary responsibility of the Floor Technician is to maintain CARTIs carpets and hard flooring surfaces in a clean, sanitized, and attractive appearance.
The floor technician may also assist in other Environmental Services duties as needed.
JOB SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Provides professional, courteous customer service and responds promptly to housekeeping-related calls, guest questions, and service requestsContributes to team efforts; exhibits professionalism with customers, fellow team members, and others.Perform cleaning and maintenance of all floors, including sweeping, wet/dry mopping, stripping/waxing floors, buffing floors, shampooing carpet, cleaning/disinfecting vertical and horizontal surfaces, and vacuuming.Waste Collection: Emptying, cleaning, and relining trash cans and biohazard containers throughout the facility.Safe Transport: Moving heavy trash carts or bins (often weighing 50 to 100 lbs) safely to designated compactors, loading docks, or treatment areas.Utilize the appropriate chemicals and supplies according to procedure.Move furniture and other objects to facilitate floor care.Operates, cleans, and maintains floor-care and other housekeeping equipment safely and properly.Works independently with minimal supervision.May train workers engaged in cleaning and maintaining the premises.Communicate daily with applicable CARTI staff on cleaning and scheduling.Complete Daily Task Sheet.Travel to CARTI clinics and other locations as needed to perform floor maintenance services.Performs other duties as assigned.
OTHER JOB REQUIREMENTS: Must have reliable source of transportation.
EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION, LICENSURE and REGISTRATION: High school diploma or G.E.D preferredCurrent valid Drivers License EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS and ABILITIES: Minimum of one year floor technician experience required; preferably in a hospital or healthcare setting.
REASONING ABILITY: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, or schedule form.
INTERPERSONAL SKILLS: Must interact and communicate both verbally and in written form.Must interact and exchange information regarding patients with physicians and other departmental personnel, and outside agencies on a frequent basis while respecting the confidentiality of patient information.
