FAMILY ASSISTANT I DUTIES AND PERFORMANCE In addition to those duties set out in the Agreement, the essential functions of the Individual's job duties include but are not limited to the following "Responsibilities": General: Lovingly nurture Dependent Adult ("Dependent Adult") to promote feelings of warmth, confidence, and security Ensure Dependent Adult's safety at all times Administer Dependent Adult's medicine and ensure that he receives all medication on time in accordance with his set schedule and per Caregiver Guidelines (This is considered a vital responsibility.) Alert your supervisor in the event Dependent Adult's medicine appears missing or is low in quantity Plan, provide and participate in appropriate fun & educational learning/developmental activities for Dependent Adult (Examples include, but are not limited to, building motor/learning skills, walks, play dates, trips to the park, zoo, and other destinations approved by Principal.
Activities may include playing learning/educational games, coloring/craft time, flashcards, library, pool, feeding fish, golf cart rides, shopping, getting the mail, etc.) Assist with learning and motor skills by working with arts, crafts, colors, textures Provide creative learning: drawing, cooking, baking, outdoor exploring Research the newest and fun motor skills games for advancement Engage in fun educational learning with appropriate music, singing, dancing Read animated stories and have Dependent Adult participate Encourage Dependent Adult to read/look/explore appropriate books, books for fun, participate in book clubs Teach appropriate writing skills, coloring, basic math skills in creative learning Teach Dependent Adult manners, table manners, etiquette, and kindness Supervise and interact/engage with Dependent Adult while allowing independent free play, educational discovery, exploration, and allow for supervised unstructured free time Set up and maintain a calendar with fun educational activities, important reminders, FUN Club reminders, appointments including dates and times Coordinate and engage in scheduled activities Help establish and maintain the daily routine for Dependent Adult Create theme days at home, art projects, and purchase the supplies needed Prepare, check, and replace needed items in Dependent Adult's bag daily for FUN Club and make sure it is always ready to go (wipes, change of clean clothes, etc.) Promote healthy eating habits to Dependent Adult as much as possible Prepare healthy and balanced meals and snacks for Dependent Adult (breakfast, lunch, snack, and dinner, as needed) Wash, rinse, and sanitize Dependent Adult's cups, utensils, and dishes Follow parental guidelines with regards to naptimes, feedings, and baths Be productive while Dependent Adult is sleeping or atthe Fun Club and tend to other household needs such as household duties, meal preparation, tidying common areas, maintaining calendars, etc.
Maintain Dependent Adult's toiletries (toilet paper, wipes, etc....
