PRIMARY FUNCTION:

This position works hand in hand with the laborer position to complete jobs.

The successful candidates will be energetic, dependable and self-motivated people, who can work in a busy quarry atmosphere.

Experience operating a front end loader required.

Experience operating equipment such as drills, skid steer loaders, haul trucks, backhoes and/or bulldozers is a plus.

Accountability for the safe and timely transportation of such loads will be imperative.

This position requires the ability to operate hand and foot controls in vehicle.

This position will report directly to the Quarry Foreman.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:


* Ability to operate various pieces of heavy equipment, including loaders, excavators, dozers, etc.;


* Be familiar with and incorporate information derived from the manuals for the individual equipment being operated;


* Be familiar with the equipment and Daily Equipment Checklist;


* Communicate with Foreman as to the daily job specifications; operate the equipment in a safe and responsible manner;


* Perform daily pre-start up procedures; i.e.

note the service due date, check fluid levels and make sure the equipment to be used is in good running order, complete Daily Equipment Checklist;


* Keep equipment clean.
