As the Senior Manager, Industrial Engineering, you will lead the development of facility layouts and designs, labor standards, staffing and efficiency analyses, and identify cost-saving opportunities while supporting operational implementations.

What you'll do on a typical day:


* Hire, train and develop industrial engineering staff; provide technical support and direction to site industrial engineers and managers


* Develop labor standards, process flow diagrams and job descriptions for new and existing operations


* Conduct time study analyses to estimate facility staffing requirements and establish production standards


* Identify, evaluate and implement productivity improvements


* Document processes to facilitate operational startups and provide on-site support as required


* Convert contract documents and SOWs into work instructions and operating procedures


* Analyze ongoing costs and compare them to prior cost and pricing estimates


* Select appropriate models for receiving, put-away, picking and packing solutions


* Identify storage and picking strategies based on product dimensions and activity levels


* Identify facility design requirements based on activity levels, product envelopes, product flow, transportation methods, building layout and power requirements


* Specify material handling and storage equipment solutions, including automation where justified


* Collaborate with IT resources to develop equipment requirements based on activity levels

What you need to succeed at GXO:

At a minimum, you'll need:


* Bachelor's degree or equivalent related work or military experience


* 5+ years of experience working in a warehouse, distribution or 3PL environment


* Experience with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS)


* Experience with Labor Management Systems (LMS)


* Project management experience, including leading projects from concept through completion


* Experience with Lean Methodology and AutoCAD


* Familiarity with Six Sigma practices and principles

It'd be great if you also have:


* Advanced degree in Industrial Engineering or a related field


* 7 years of industrial engineering experience in a distribution environment


* 2 years of supervisory or management experience


* SQL experience
