CT/X-Ray Technologist
CT/X-Ray Technologist Position Summary The CT/X-Ray Technologist performs routine and emergent diagnostic imaging procedures, including X-ray and computed tomography (CT), in accordance with established protocols, radiologist direction, regulatory requirements, and professional standards.
This position is responsible for obtaining high-quality diagnostic images while prioritizing patient safety, radiation protection, accurate documentation, and exceptional customer service.

Key Responsibilities Perform routine and emergent diagnostic radiographic examinations using fixed and portable X-ray equipment.Perform routine and emergent CT examinations according to established protocols and radiologist direction.Select and adjust appropriate exposure factors to ensure optimal image quality while minimizing radiation exposure.Properly position patients based on the examination and anatomical structures to obtain high-quality diagnostic images.Apply the ALARA (As Low As Reasonably Achievable) principle to minimize radiation exposure and promote patient safety.Operate imaging equipment safely and effectively while following established department procedures.Process, verify, and transmit images through the Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS) for radiologist interpretation.Complete examinations according to established radiologist protocols and department standards.Accurately document procedures, charges, and patient information in the electronic medical record (EMR).Schedule patients for imaging and diagnostic services, including X-ray, CT, MRI, ultrasound, DXA, and Holter monitoring.Provide appropriate patient education and assistance related to contrast media administration for CT examinations, within scope of practice and established protocols.Monitor patients before, during, and after examinations and respond appropriately to changes in patient condition.Participate in quality control activities related to imaging equipment, radiation safety, and patient safety.Identify and report equipment concerns, malfunctions, or safety issues according to department procedures.Ensure imaging examinations are completed accurately and in a timely manner.Provide professional, compassionate, and respectful customer service to patients, families, visitors, physicians, and staff.Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with HIPAA and facility privacy policies.Maintain a clean, organized, and safe imaging environment.Stay current with changes in imaging technology, regulatory requirements, safety standards, and professional practices.Perform other duties as assigned.
