Commercial HVAC Foreman – Working Field Leader for NYC Metro & NJ Projects

The Opportunity

You will serve as a working field leader driving the daily execution of commercial HVAC installation projects across the NYC Metro and New Jersey markets.

In this role, you will lead from the front—installing alongside your crew while managing day-to-day work, controlling quality, maintaining site safety, and liaising directly with General Contractors, engineers, and building management.

This position offers a direct advancement track to Superintendent, Field Manager, or Project Manager.

How You Will Make an Impact


* Lead, mentor, and direct a field crew of 4 to 12 installers and helpers on complex commercial HVAC projects.


* Work hands-on alongside your crew while planning daily task assignments and managing installation workflows.


* Read and interpret mechanical shop drawings, equipment specifications, and submittals to execute work strictly per code and design.


* Perform detailed layouts and direct the installation of ductwork, refrigerant piping, hydronic systems, and heavy HVAC equipment (VRF/VRV, RTUs, AHUs, fan coils).


* Direct daily site coordination with GC superintendents, trade partners, inspectors, and client representatives.


* Track daily labor hours, verify material deliveries, prevent jobsite waste, and log field updates via mobile apps.


* Conduct daily safety reviews (toolbox talks), enforce PPE usage, and maintain compliance with OSHA, NYC SST, and NFPA standards.


* Prepare for and represent Northern Wolves Inc.

during code, fire marshal, and quality control inspections.

Required Qualifications & Experience


* Fluent professional English (spoken and written) for clear communication with GC superintendents, inspectors, and clients.


* Minimum 10 years of experience in commercial HVAC installation.


* Minimum 5 years of experience in a leadership role (Foreman, Lead Installer, or Working Foreman).


* Hands-on expertise with VRF/VRV systems, chilled water systems, RTUs, ductwork, and commercial piping.


* Working knowledge of NYC Mechanical Code, NYC Energy Code, NFPA 96 (kitchen exhaust), and basic ASHRAE standards.


* Active OSHA 30-Hour certification, NYC SST Card, Fire Watch certification, and a valid NY driver's license.


* Physical capacity to lift 50+ lbs, work at heights...
