Job Summary

Laborers are responsible for performing a variety of manual tasks on construction projects including shoveling and raking asphalt material and assisting other crew members as needed to ensure the successful completion of work in a safe and efficient manner.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities


* Shovel and rake asphalt.


* Perform general labor duties to support crew and project needs.


* Ability to work in extreme hot and cold weather.


* Maintain a clean and safe work area.


* Load and unload tools and materials.


* Assist with setting up and cleaning up work zones.


* Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Requirements


* Ability to work in extreme temperatures.


* Must be able to work as a team and follow direction.


* Must be able to lift, carry, push, and pull materials up to fifty pounds.


* Must be able to stand for extended periods of time.


* Must be available for day shift or night shift as needed.


* Ensure a safe work environment in compliance with all safety policies and procedures.


* Properly use and maintain hand tools and equipment used on the job site.


* Follow all company policies and OSHA guidelines.


* Follow directions of supervisor and communicate effectively with crew and management.


* Regular and predictable attendance is an essential function of the job.


* Ability to be flexible with last-minute schedule changes, location changes, and shift changes.


* Overtime may be required.


* The ability to learn in a fast-paced environment.


* Must always maintain a courteous and professional manner with co-workers, customers, and the public.
