Foundry Technician Worker

Schedule: Monday - Friday (6:30 AM - 3:00 PM) Position Overview: The Foundry Technician supports all stages of the foundry process, including material handling, molding, casting, cleaning, and production support.

This position helps ensure smooth operations and production efficiency by assisting skilled operators as needed.

Key Responsibilities: Support daily foundry operations, including molding, melting, pouring, cleaning, and finishing.Handle and transport raw materials, molds, cores, castings, and finished products.Assist with furnace operations, melt deck setup, and charge material preparation.Operate hand and pneumatic tools for cleaning, grinding, and finishing castings.Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.

Molding & Casting Support: Assist with pattern setup, sand mixing, mold assembly, and core preparation.Prepare molds and cores for production, ensuring proper alignment and handling.Clean and prepare castings for inspection and finishing.Support pouring operations while following all molten metal safety procedures.Identify and report casting or mold defects.

Material Handling & Equipment Operation: Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, skid steers, overhead cranes, and other material-handling equipment.Transport materials, castings, scrap, and supplies throughout the facility.Load and unload raw materials, consumables, and finished products.Assist with routine equipment inspections, lubrication, and basic maintenance.

Teamwork & Flexibility: Work across departments to support production demands and priorities.Collaborate with molding, melting, and finishing teams to meet production goals.Learn and assist with new processes through training and cross-functional support.Follow supervisor direction and communicate progress, issues, and operational needs.

Safety & Quality: Follow all safety policies, PPE requirements, and lockout/tagout procedures.Safely work around hot metal, moving equipment, and industrial materials.Adhere to quality standards and report defects or nonconformances.

Qualifications: 1+ year of foundry, manufacturing, or industrial experience preferred; training available for qualified candidates.Mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn multiple foundry processes.Experience operating forklifts, cranes, or similar equipment preferred.Ability to work in hot, dusty, and noisy environments while wearing required PPE.Strong work ethic, reliability, and attention to detail.Team-oriented with the flexibility to adapt to changing priorities.Ability to lift up to 75 lbs and stand for extended periods.Commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
