Certified Medical Assistant/Scribe
Job Summary: The Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) / Medical Scribe plays a dual role supporting clinical operations and documentation.
This team member assists physicians with patient care, performs clinical tasks within their certification, and ensures accurate and timely documentation of patient visits within the Electronic Health Record (EHR) system.
This role is essential to delivering efficient, high-quality care while supporting provider workflow and patient experience.
Duties/Responsibilities: Assist with patient intake including taking vital signs, reviewing medications, and preparing patients for examsSupport providers with in-room patient care as needed and within CMA scope of practiceDocument provider-patient interactions in real-time into the EHR during patient encountersComplete and submit accurate and timely medical documentation under physician supervisionPerform basic clinical tasks such as administering injections, collecting specimens, and assisting with proceduresSchedule appointments, manage referrals, and provide patient education as instructedMaintain exam rooms, stock supplies, and ensure cleanliness and readinessAdhere to HIPAA regulations and maintain strict patient confidentialityCommunicate professionally with patients, providers, and staffPerform other duties as assigned Required Skills/Abilities: Strong understanding of clinical workflows and medical terminologyProficiency in EHR documentation and transcriptionAbility to multitask effectively in a fast-paced clinical environmentExceptional written and verbal communication skillsExcellent organizational and time management abilitiesCompassionate bedside manner and professionalismCommitment to patient privacy and HIPAA compliance Education and Experience: Certification as a Medical Assistant (CMA) or Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) from an accredited programExperience as a medical scribe preferredHigh school diploma or equivalent required Physical Requirements: Prolonged periods of standing, walking, and assisting patientsAbility to sit at a computer for documentationMust be able to lift and move up to 2550 poundsAbility to bend, stoop, and kneel as needed for patient care
