Production Supervisor - Radford, VA

GENERAL REQUIREMENTS: 1.

Must have an associate degree in a business/management related subject (Bachelor's preferred) with at least two years of experience in a leadership/management position or have four years of experience in a leadership/management.

2.

Six Sigma Yellow Belt certification required (Green Belt preferred) OR the ability to obtain within one year of employment and maintain certification and demonstrate proficiency in that capacity.

3.

Background experience in Root Cause Analysis strongly preferred.

4.

Background experience in Continuous Improvement strongly preferred.

5.

Background experience in Lean Manufacturing strongly preferred.

6.

Must be able to receive clearance from the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (BATFE).

7.

Must have good written and oral communication skills.

8.

Must have computer skills and be able to create documents in Microsoft Excel with formulas.

9.

Be able to read drawings.

10.

Must be able to work well with others and motivate employees.

11.

Be able to work well under the pressure of ensuring that requirements and specifications are met.

12.

Background in International Organization for Standardization (ISO) preferred.

13.

Be able to work altered shift, hours or overtime as required.

JOB DUTIES: 1.

Supervise staff of production Team Leaders, and Production Associates on various shifts and over multiple product lines.

2.

Schedule staffing and approve vacation to provide necessary coverage.

3.

Ensure through staff that the manufacturing process and product meet quality requirements by performing inspections, and audits of processes and materials.

4.

Oversee that all associates are properly trained and maintain training matrices per line and associate.

5.

Complete and administer scheduled Performance Reviews for direct reporting staff.

6.

Report daily and weekly production status to upper management.

7.

Must read and ensure compliance with contract requirements.

8.

Must be committed to ISO and the company's Quality Management System using process approach and risk based thinking methodologies.

9.

Ensure the Quality Policy and quality objectives are communicated to direct report employees.

10.

Shares accountability for the effectiveness of the Quality Management System.

11.

Ensure department is in compliance with ISO requirements.

12.

Participate in Yearly Management Review of all ISO documentation as scheduled.

13.

Will participate in development of Hazards Analysis.

14.

Responsible for writing procedures for production line, creating Assembler Inspection Sheets (AIS's) and creating Production Schedules.

15.

Assist in scheduling and managing outside contractors for project work.

Create timeline schedules.

16.

Must be actively involved and working closely with the Production Manager and Director of Operations for the planning, coordination, and control of manufacturing processes.
