RN Responsibilities
Clinical & Resident Care


* Provide direct nursing care and clinical oversight to residents.


* Assess resident conditions and communicate changes to physicians, families, and interdisciplinary team members.


* Administer medications and treatments according to physician orders and facility protocols.


* Monitor resident progress and ensure individualized care plans are followed.


* Perform admissions, transfers, and discharges.


* Start IVs and obtain specimens as ordered.


* Participate in care planning, assessments, and discharge planning.


* Respond appropriately to emergencies and changes in resident condition.


* Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation.

Leadership & Supervision


* Supervise and support Licensed Vocational Nurses (LVNs/LPNs) and Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs).


* Ensure adequate staffing and assignment coverage during the shift.


* Conduct rounds and monitor quality of care provided by nursing staff.


* Assist with staff training, coaching, and orientation.


* Promote a positive team culture focused on resident-centered care.


* Collaborate with the Director of Nursing and interdisciplinary departments to maintain quality outcomes.

Compliance & Quality Assurance


* Ensure compliance with state, federal, and facility regulations.


* Support infection prevention and safety initiatives.


* Participate in quality assurance and performance improvement programs.


* Maintain resident confidentiality and HIPAA compliance.


* Complete incident reports and follow-up documentation as needed.


* Assist during regulatory surveys and audits.

Qualifications
Required


* Active, unrestricted California Registered Nurse (RN) License


* Current CPR/BLS Certification
