Survey Drafting Technician

The Drafting Technician operates a Computer-Aided Design (CAD) computer system, including creating, updating, and modifying maps, and performs manual drafting.

Requires application of well-developed technical knowledge in planning, conducting, and coordinating difficult assignments.Considered an expert within the CAD discipline.The position requires modifying established guidelines and initiating new approaches.Make independent decisions in planning, organizing, and completing technical assignments.

Work is assigned in terms of objectives andpriorities,but informed guidance is available outside the specific area of expertise.Processing, organizing, coordinating, and advising on a broad range of project assignments requiring surveying/mapping/data systems/networks knowledge.Support the field surveying, mapping, and document deliverables for agency submittals.

Use of various databases in processing field data.

Processing and managing point cloud data files.

Maintain and manage Field Survey Data systems together with local and wide network operating systems.All duties performed are to be carried out according to the safety of all personnel at the worksite and to perform the task efficiently.
