Lead Heavy Duty Mechanic

Clean Harbors in Breslau, ON location is currently looking for a Lead Heavy Duty Mechanic to join our team.

This position is responsible for maintaining / repairing heavy diesel equipment within the facility.

RESPONSIBILITIES



* Ensuring that Health and Safety is the number one priority by complying with all safe work practices, policies, and processes and always acting in a safe manner.


* Complete and follow requirements of Field Level Hazard and Job Hazard assessments.


* Conducts Safety Checks & Annual Vehicle Inspections in accordance with provincial & federal laws.


* Perform thorough inspections (CVIP) of equipment and identify required repairs.


* Perform all required maintenance and repairs to various types of equipment, tanker tailers and heavy-duty trucks;


* Inspect and diagnose components and equipment for servicing needs.


* Perform maintenance which follows the manufacturer guidelines;


* Complete repair orders.


* Troubleshoot, diagnose and repair equipment and light and heavy duty vehicles.


* Communicate equipment servicing needs as required with Supervisor.


* Complete warranty information.


* Disassemble, inspect, fit and replace worn or broken parts.


* Carry out housekeeping duties.


* Complete all required documentation and in an accurate and timely manner.

QUALIFICATIONS



* Licensed Mechanic Certification (310T license)


* 5 + years' experience in maintaining of one or more of the following units: pickup trucks, tractors, and trailers;


* Familiarity with the various types of diesel engines;


* Ability to oversee, coach and mentor all apprentices and other shop laborers;


* Ability to work in a team environment.


* Must be versed in all aspects e.g.

electrical, computer, ECMs, fuel, air systems, ABS, hydraulic systems, engines etc.


* Ability or get or have DriveOn.


* Valid full drivers license.
