General Laborer

ABOUT THE ROLE

Amrize, a leading supplier of quality, construction building materials in the United States, has immediate openings for a General Laborer to support operations at the Kirby Road Asphalt plant located in Clinton, Md.

This position will be responsible for performing general labor duties in a quarry setting, including housekeeping of work areas, removal of excess material and debris, and assistance with heavy equipment operations and material handling.

WHAT YOU'LL ACCOMPLISH


* Perform general labor duties, including manual material handling, shoveling rock, and assisting equipment operators.


* Assist with the daily operation and maintenance of the asphalt production plant.


* Load, unload, and move raw materials, tools, and supplies throughout the facility.


* Keep the plant, yard, and work areas clean, organized, and free of debris.


* Perform general housekeeping, including sweeping, shoveling, and cleaning around equipment.


* Assist with routine maintenance and minor repairs on plant equipment and machinery.


* Monitor material stockpiles and help maintain adequate inventory levels.


* Support plant operators during asphalt production and material loading.


* Inspect equipment and work areas for safety hazards and report issues promptly.


* Operate hand tools and small equipment safely and efficiently.


* Follow all safety procedures, environmental regulations, and company policies.


* Work outdoors in varying weather conditions and perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting up to 50 pounds.
Complete other general labor and plant support duties as assigned by supervisors.


* Demonstrate a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to health, safety and environmental policies in all work environments and areas.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR


* Education: High school diploma or equivalent


* Required Work Experience: Industrial or construction environment preferred


* Previous experience in construction, manufacturing, or an asphalt plant is preferred but not required.


* Ability to perform physically demanding work, including lifting up to 50 pounds.


* Strong commitment to workplace safety and following company procedures.


* Reliable attendance and punctuality.


* Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.


* Basic mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn plant equipment operations.


* Comfortable using hand tools and basic power tools.


* Ability to work effectively as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.


* Willingness to work overtime, weekends, or extended hours as needed during peak production.


* Valid driver's license and reliable transportation preferred.


* Positive attitude, strong work ethic, and eagerness to learn...
