Summary:

The Environmental Engineer administers the plant environmental program following federal and state environmental laws and regulations.

What you'll be contributing:



* Promote and follow all plant safety guidelines.


* Participates in environmental projects/issues, serves as a liaison with regulatory agencies, and inspectors during inspections.



* Ensures compliance with all environmental permits and all applicable federal, state and local environmental laws and regulations.



* Assists regulatory agencies by providing information and assistance.



* Administers, and assists in preparation of various environmental reports, renewals, questionnaires and surveys.



* Performs audits of data acquisition system and makes necessary changes.



* Coordinates compliance with Corporate Environmental Policy and International standard development Organization (ISO) 14001 Certification



* Contracts with training consultants and purchases training media in a cost-effective manner.



* Coordinates all training efforts and goals with the Environmental Manager and Corporate Environmental Manager.


* Additional duties as assigned by supervisor.

To succeed in this position, you will need:



* Ability to read, write, and understand warning labels, instructions, signs, etc.


* Minimum of Bachelor's degree in Environmental Engineering or other technically related field


* Minimum of 3 year of experience in environmental field in cement, mining or related industry and working with regulatory agencies


* Ability to make decisions and to exercise sound judgment in arriving at a conclusion



* Ability to perform, organize and prioritize work independently



* Knowledge of applicable federal, state and local environmental laws and regulations.



* Knowledge of environmental programs, policies and practices applicable to a cement manufacturing environment.
