Job Summary

The Transportation Manager is responsible for leading and optimizing all transportation operations across the company's private fleet and third-party carrier network.

This role ensures the safe, compliant, and cost-effective movement of goods while delivering high levels of service to customers and internal stakeholders.

The Transportation Manager oversees fleet operations, dispatch activities, carrier relationships, transportation planning, driver performance, and continuous improvement initiatives to achieve operational excellence.

Job Location

This is an onsite role based out of our site in either Egg Harbor City, NJ or Morristown, TN.

Job Responsibilities

Transportation Operations Management



* Direct daily transportation activities for both company-owned fleet assets and third-party transportation providers.


* Manage dispatch operations to ensure efficient route planning, load optimization, and on-time deliveries.


* Monitor transportation performance, capacity utilization, and service levels across all modes and carriers.


* Develop transportation strategies that support business growth, customer requirements, and cost objectives.


* Ensure seamless coordination between warehouse, customer service, planning, and transportation teams.

Fleet Management



* Oversee the operation and maintenance of company-owned trucks, trailers, and transportation equipment.


* Manage fleet utilization, routing efficiency, preventive maintenance schedules, and asset lifecycle planning.


* Monitor driver performance, safety metrics, fuel consumption, and equipment productivity.


* Implement programs to improve fleet reliability, equipment uptime, and transportation efficiency.

Third-Party Carrier Management



* Manage relationships with brokers, carriers, and transportation service providers.


* Source and negotiate transportation rates, contracts, and service agreements.


* Monitor carrier performance through key performance indicators (KPIs) including on-time delivery, claims, cost, and service quality.


* Develop contingency plans to address capacity constraints and transportation disruptions.
