Position Summary

The Housekeeper is responsible for maintaining cleanliness and sanitation throughout the facility, including resident rooms, common areas, and public spaces.

This role helps ensure a comfortable and healthy living environment while supporting the overall well-being of our residents.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities


* Clean and maintain common areas, including lobbies, hallways, restrooms, drinking fountains, and floors.


* Clean and sanitize resident rooms and bathrooms according to facility standards.


* Dust and wipe down handrails, walls, mirrors, windows, light fixtures, towel bars, and dispensers.


* Empty trash receptacles and replace liners as needed.


* Sweep, mop, and maintain floors throughout the facility.


* Follow all housekeeping and safety procedures, including proper chemical storage and use of caution signage.


* Operate housekeeping equipment and cleaning supplies according to manufacturer guidelines.


* Maintain clean, organized, and sanitary housekeeping carts, equipment, and storage areas.


* Report resident safety concerns promptly to the Director of Housekeeping, Administrator, or Director of Nursing.


* Monitor housekeeping supplies and notify management when replenishment is needed.


* Provide excellent customer service to residents, families, guests, and coworkers.


* Manage time effectively and complete assignments efficiently.


* Work independently and collaboratively to maintain facility standards.

Qualifications


* High school diploma or equivalent preferred.


* Previous housekeeping experience in a healthcare, skilled nursing, or long-term care setting is a plus.


* Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.


* Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness.


* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.


* Ability to read and understand procedure manuals, instructions, and safety guidelines.


* Basic math skills, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.


* Ability to solve practical problems and adapt to changing situations.

Physical Requirements


* Frequent walking, standing, bending, reaching, and lifting.


* Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 25 pounds.


* Ability to perform repetitive tasks such as sweeping, mopping, and dusting.


* Ability to use housekeeping equipment and cleaning products throughout the shift.
