Behavioral Support Specialist

In this role, you'll provide individualized, positive behavioral support that helps people build skills, navigate challenges, achieve their personal goals, and thrive in their communities.
OS team members spend their days implementing community-based recreational activities/outings, and providing supports to meet our consumers' physical, emotional, and interpersonal needs.

Hours and Benefits of the Behavioral Support Specialist: This position offers a starting pay range of $19-$21 per hour, with starting wages determined based on education, relevant experience, and qualifications.
Schedule: Approximately 35-40 hours per week, Monday-Friday, with hours typically falling between 7:00 a.m.
and 3:30 p.m.
Full Time Position Benefits also include: Medical - 100% of employee premiums paid by employer.

Retirement Savings Bonus Employer Contribution to a Dependent Care FSA Opportunities for Advancement Essential and Principle Job Responsibilities: Provide supervision to clients in recreational activities, meal times and other various activities in a day program setting and out within the community.
Assist in the transportation of clients using OS vehicles and follow agency's transportation policies.
Provide quality assistance with all personal cares.
Provide and assist clients with medication administration.
Facilitate positive interactions of clients with community members at large.
Assist in interaction through positive reinforcement, positive programming, engagement and the use of alternative communication strategies.
Communicate and work positively with client teams.
Implement Physical Intervention Alternatives (PIA) strategies when applicable Follow recommended Positive Behavior Support Plans specific to each client Position also known as: DSP (Direct Support Professional), Behavior Specialist, Positive Behavior Support Specialist, Behavior Support Staff
