Director of Information Technology

The Director of Information Technology is responsible for providing strategic leadership and oversight of the organization's technology operations across Michigan, Massachusetts, Maryland, and California.

This role develops and executes the IT strategy, leads internal and outsourced technology resources, manages vendor relationships, and ensures technology solutions effectively support business operations, compliance, cybersecurity, financial stewardship, resident services, and organizational growth.

The Director partners with executive leadership to align technology initiatives with organizational goals, improve operational efficiency, strengthen data-driven decision-making, and ensure the delivery of secure, reliable technology services throughout the organization.

Strategy & Leadership Develop and execute a multi-year technology strategy aligned with the organization's mission, strategic plan, and budget.Advise executive leadership regarding technology trends, risks, opportunities, and investments.Establish IT governance, standards, policies, and procedures.Lead digital transformation initiatives that improve efficiency, collaboration, reporting, and service delivery.Create annual technology plans, budgets, and performance metrics.Champion a culture of data-driven decision making, security awareness, and continuous improvement.

Technology Operations & Infrastructure Oversee all technology infrastructure, including cloud services, networks, end-user devices, telecommunications, and collaboration platforms.Ensure reliable system performance, security, business continuity, and user support.Manage Microsoft 365, SharePoint, Teams, and related business systems.Develop and maintain technology standards across all offices and properties and ensure consistent service levels.

Cybersecurity, Compliance & Risk Management Lead organizational cybersecurity strategy and risk management efforts.Develop & maintain cybersecurity policies, staff & volunteer training programs, incident response procedures, and disaster recovery plans.Oversee identity and access management, multifactor authentication, endpoint protection, backups, and vulnerability management.Ensure compliance with applicable privacy and regulatory requirements.

Business Applications, Data Analytics & Support Oversee core business systems and collaboration platforms supporting: Property ManagementFinance and AccountingDevelopment, Facilities, and ConstructionHuman ResourcesCompliance and CertificationResident Services Evaluate, select, and implement technology solutions that improve operations, reduce manual processes and promote workflow automation across departments.Improve organizational reporting capabilities and ensure leadership has access to accurate, timely, and actionable information.Support data integration and business intelligence initiatives.Provi...
