Graduate Assistant - Testing Center Proctor

The Graduate Student Assistant plays a vital operational and spiritual support role within Arizona Christian University's Testing Center.

In addition to supervising exam administration and maintaining a secure, confidential testing environment, this role actively liaises with faculty to collect assessment materials, manages scheduling and seat utilization, and tracks operational data for reporting.

As a representative of Arizona Christian University, the Graduate Student Assistant models an active Christian faith, meaningfully encouraging and supporting students, faculty, and staff from a biblical worldview.

This role also requires a comprehensive understanding of and commitment to the unique Christian mission and vision of ACU to Transform Culture with Truth, and the ability to advance that mission and vision through the performance of its duties, including person-to-person mentorship and discipleship.

Key Responsibilities 1.

Faculty Coordination & Assessment Management Faculty Liaison: Proactively communicate with faculty members utilizing the testing center to coordinate student exam logistics, clarify testing instructions, and establish clear delivery guidelines.

Assessment Intake & File Management: Collect, log, and securely organize physical and digital testing materials, password keys, and specific accommodation instructions prior to scheduled exams.

Test Security & Integrity: Protect the security and strict confidentiality of all testing materials, faculty passwords, examinee records, and staff communications in full compliance with FERPA regulations.

Proctoring & Room Utilization Management Student Reception & Check-In: Greet examines warmly, verifies student identities, and manages student check-in and appointment scheduling efficiently.

Test Administration: Directly proctor paper-based and digital exams, ensuring strict adherence to academic integrity policies and accommodation standards while remaining direct, kind, and supportive in all student interactions.

Space & Equipment Coordination: Oversee room usage and seat scheduling to maximize capacity; maintain an orderly testing environment and immediately report any facility, space, or technical/equipment issues to the supervisor.

Data Collection & Reporting Usage Tracking: Maintain complete and accurate logs of student check-ins, completed exams, room usage, and accommodation delivery.

Operational Reporting: Regularly compile and report general student usage metrics and testing center activity data to the center supervisor.

4.

Spiritual Leadership & University Commitment Biblical Encouragement: Support and encourage students, faculty, and staff from a biblical worldview perspective, utilizing relevant and applicable references from scripture and orthodox Christian writings.

Prayer & Fellowship: Demonstrate comfort and familiarity with praying with and for others, including students, faculty, and fellow university staff.
