Community Health Educator (LPN)

COMMUNITY HEALTH EDUCATOR PUBLIC HEALTH DEPARTMENT Part-time 24 hours/week POSITION SUMMARY: As a Licensed Practical Nurse, you will be responsible to provide health education and promotion within the community, perform disease outbreak investigations, provide child immunizations, and improve health equity for Iowans to reduce the burden of preventative diseases.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Instruct patients of different ages and socioeconomic backgrounds in the techniques, practices, and methods of promoting and maintaining their health.

Implement standard office procedures and use modern office equipment effectively Organizational skills to maintain health supplies and equipment.

Develop, review, update and recommend health program media campaigns and educational outreach.

Maintain effective working relationships with the public, other health care professionals and patients/clients.
