Mechanical Designer - Piping SR 3

Position Overview BLOC Resources is seeking a highly experienced Mechanical Designer Piping SR 3 to support major power generation, retrofit, environmental, and new-generation infrastructure projects based out of The Energy Center in Birmingham, Alabama.

This senior-level position is responsible for developing complex 3D piping and equipment designs, producing detailed engineering and construction drawings, supporting field activities, and collaborating with multidisciplinary engineering and design teams to deliver safe, constructible, cost-effective, and technically accurate designs.

The successful candidate will bring 20+ years of relevant mechanical/piping design experience, with a strong background supporting power generation facilities or comparable heavy industrial environments.

Candidates should possess extensive knowledge of piping systems, equipment layouts, piping components, material selection, valve selection, pipe supports, P&IDs, construction practices, and applicable engineering codes and standards.

This position also requires the ability to provide technical leadership, review the work of others, coordinate across engineering disciplines, support construction activities, and independently manage design responsibilities across multiple concurrent projects.
