Resident Engineer - Rail (Remote Site Locations)

Our Construction Management team is seeking a Resident Engineer for various rail and transit infrastructure projects.

The Resident Engineer will manage the daily observation of the Contractor's operations.

Responsibilities: Oversee the construction management and inspection of rail projects Review shop drawings and specifications to ensure proper installation of contract items Preparing inspection reports and oversight of field testing and commissioning Review change orders and issue recommendations and respond to RFI's Maintain quantity logs and review payment requests from contractors Attend meetings and prepare minutes Review and maintain staffing reports, payroll certifications, and other labor documentation from the contractors Review the Contractor's work plans Ensure the Contractor complies with the Contractors Safety and Health Plan Prepare a punch list with the owner upon completion of the project Qualifications: BS degree in engineering or a related field 10+ years of experience as a Resident Engineer and managing construction field teams Experience with Amtrak, MTA, Metro-North Railroad, NJ Transit, or Long Island Railroad construction projects and project management guidelines (PMG's) is a plus OSHA 30-hour safety certification Candidate must have reliable transportation A licensed professional engineer is preferred
