Peer Navigator

JOB SUMMARY: Peer Navigator provides support and supervises the youth within the program utilizing their lived experiences while performing home-life training, assisting with, and participating in therapeutic activities and completing supportive record-keeping functions.

DUTIES AND JOB FUNCTIONS: Serve as a member of a group treatment team with the responsibility for ensuring each youth person successfully completes the goals set forth in their housing plan.

Assist the young people with daily life activities.

Lead, supervise, and participate in recreational activities Responsible for conducting life-skills groups to youth in the program on a weekly basis.

Provide assistance with controlling disruptive behavior using agency approved methods of de-escalation and crisis intervention.

Collaborate with other staff in planning for the group or its individual members and participate in making decisions.

Organize and maintain case notes, assessments, case summaries, case records, and other related records as required.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: High school diploma or equivalent Valid Driver's License Must have "lived experience" with homelessness, mental health, substance use disorder, or psychological trauma
