Overview

Maintain and support the hotel's building systems, equipment, guest rooms, public areas, and physical facilities to ensure a safe, functional, well maintained, and welcoming environment for guests and associates.

At Marriott La Jolla, Engineer II team members are expected to independently respond to routine maintenance needs, troubleshoot building and equipment concerns within their knowledge and training, complete preventive maintenance assignments, and respond to guest and operational requests with professionalism and urgency.

This position works collaboratively with Engineering leadership and hotel departments to support property operations while maintaining applicable safety standards, company procedures, and Marriott La Jolla service expectations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

The following are specific contributions that must be developed during the training program in order to successfully complete the program and be placed in a hotel with or without reasonable accommodation:

• Perform preventive maintenance assignments on a scheduled basis, including guest room preventive maintenance and room care programs.

• Respond to assigned work orders and maintenance requests throughout guest rooms, public areas, back of house areas, meeting spaces, food and beverage outlets, and other areas of the hotel.

• Troubleshoot and perform routine repairs involving HVAC, electrical, plumbing, lighting, fixtures, appliances, and other building systems within the scope of the position and the employee's training and qualifications.
