Director of Academic Success
This role leads BGCAA's Academic Success and Creative Arts programming.
You design and oversee arts-integrated learning experiences that make academics engaging, relevant, and fun.
You set program standards, build curriculum, coach staff, evaluate outcomes, and grow partnerships that expand creative and academic opportunities across all Club sites.
Key Responsibilities Program Leadership- Set the vision and strategy for academic + creative arts programming across all Clubs.
- Build curriculum, lesson plans, toolkits, and annual program plans.
- Ensure alignment with BGCAA best practices and youth development principles.
- Track trends and bring innovative instructional practices into the organization.
Arts-Integrated Curriculum- Create project-based learning that blends academics with visual arts, music, theater, dance, digital media, fashion, photography, and design.
- Strengthen literacy, STEM, social studies, financial literacy, and workforce readiness through creative exploration.
- Ensure programming is culturally responsive, inclusive, and aligned with youth interests.
Program Quality- Develop and maintain program quality standards.
- Conduct site observations, coaching visits, and quality assessments.
- Use data, youth feedback, and outcome measures to evaluate effectiveness.
- Build action plans to improve engagement, safety, and instructional quality.
Staff Development- Recruit, train, and coach staff delivering academic and creative programming.
- Lead professional development on arts integration, instructional best practices, youth engagement, and classroom management.
- Foster a culture of creativity, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
Youth Outcomes & Data- Define measurable academic, creative, and social-emotional outcomes.
- Monitor participation, engagement, skill development, and program impact.
- Build dashboards and reports for leadership and funders.
Partnerships & Events- Build partnerships with schools, colleges, museums, arts organizations, and community groups.
- Support grant development and innovative program proposals.
- Coordinate volunteers, guest instructors, and artists.
- Lead organization-wide showcases: art exhibits, STEM fairs, literacy events, talent shows, academic competitions, and family engagement nights.
Organizational Leadership- Collaborate across BGCAA's five program pillars.
- Support strategic planning, accreditation, grant reporting, and quality initiatives.
