Continuous Engineer

We are looking for an Experienced Mechanical Engineer for our Cedar Rapids, Iowa Design Center to provide technical leadership for the maintenance and optimization within the Miniature Circuit Breaker (MCB) portfolio and experience on UL489 standard.

Job Responsibilities


* Apply methodical problem-solving techniques (e.g.

5 Whys) and tools (e.g.

Fishbone Diagram) to solve problems.



* Create and execute verification & validation of test plans in SE laboratories.



* Responsible for engineering analysis activities by interpreting test results on Thermal, Electromagnetic, Dynamical, and Structural, to ensure the adequate performance, quality, and reliability of the product.



* Compliance to ratings, product specifications and standard requirements (UL, CSA, NOM, CCC and IEC).



* Synthesize data into technical reports to effectively convey summary and conclusions to audience (e.g.

peers, management, product owners, scrum masters).



* Lead and executeCircuit Breaker projects to optimize our product offer.

Coordinate engineering scheduling, planning, safety reviews and communicate project status to internal stakeholders.



* Execute/lead assigned product designs changes - drawings and BOMs (bill of materials) markups according to given technical specifications using dedicated tools (software, database, 2D and 3D CAD system).



* Designoffers from technical specifications to meet customer values expectations and quality goals with respect to supply chains constraints



* Support Global Supply Change Manufacturing Plants in North America.

Audit the manufacturing facilities of assigned product family to help ensure product compliance to applicable regulatory standards (e.g.

UL 489, IEC, ANSI)



* Responsible for the signoff of deliverables (such as PPAPs and Pilot Run reviews).



* Work collaboratively on cross-functional teams to address quality, performance, or productivity objectives.



* Lead the creation and update of Design Failure Mode Effects Analysis (xFMEA) documents to reflect product design changes.



* May provide mentoring, instructions/assistance to other engineers or functions.



* Support Customer returns analysis.



* Contribute to user documentation such as instruction bulletins, safety labels, and product markings.



* Bachelor's Degree or equivalent expertise in electromechanical design in electrical distribution products (Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Physics, or related field).Master's in science is a plus.



* 6-10 years of relevant experience in electromechanical mass production industries (preferred)



* Six Sigma Black Belt is a plus.



* Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T).



* Basic 3D CAD Modeling.

(CREO preferred)



* Experience in Product Testing and Evaluation Methods (UL/ CSA/NOM/ IEC/ CCC/ ANSI).



* Circuit Breaker design experience is a plus.



* Knowledge of CAE (Ex, Structural, Thermal, Kine...
