Essential Duties and Responsibilities Fabricate boat parts using fiberglass, resin, and other composite materialsRepair damage to fiberglass and carbon boat hulls and other partsUnderstand general boatbuilding principles and conceptsMake accurate cuts of wood and other materials using table and chop saws and other related power toolsSkilled in working directly from blueprints without assistanceExperience working with epoxy pre-peg laminating, vacuum consolidated wet laminating and vacuum infusion techniques along with an understanding in mold constructionWorking knowledge of hi-tech materials is ideal, but, as we offer onsite training, any experience in construction in a crossover trade is acceptableComposite construction methodsMust possess own toolsAvailability to work overtime in order to meet deadlinesOther duties as assigned by Manager Safety and Environmental Responsibilities Follow SHM Safety and Environmental rules and complete required related training.Wear proper personal protective equipment (may include safety glasses, gloves, life jackets and/or hard hats) as required for the task or work area.Report all accidents, injuries, spills and near misses immediately.
