Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) Responsibilities


* Evaluate residents referred for speech, language, cognitive, and swallowing disorders within established timeframes


* Develop individualized treatment plans and obtain physician approval as required


* Provide skilled speech-language pathology services in accordance with physician orders and clinical standards


* Assess and treat communication, cognition, voice, language, speech, and dysphagia disorders


* Collaborate with physicians, nursing staff, rehabilitation professionals, residents, and families to achieve optimal outcomes


* Participate in care plan meetings, patient care conferences, and interdisciplinary team discussions


* Educate residents, caregivers, families, and staff regarding treatment goals and therapeutic techniques


* Complete timely, accurate, and compliant documentation in electronic medical record systems


* Assist with discharge planning and caregiver training


* Supervise Speech-Language Pathology Assistants and Clinical Fellows in accordance with state regulations, when applicable


* Support ongoing staff education through in-service training and mentorship

Qualifications
Required


* Master's or Doctoral Degree in Speech-Language Pathology


* Active and unrestricted California Speech-Language Pathologist License


* Current license maintained in good standing


* Strong clinical, documentation, and communication skills


* Ability to work effectively as part of an interdisciplinary team

Preferred


* Experience in Skilled Nursing Facilities (SNF), Post-Acute Care, Rehabilitation, Long-Term Care, or Geriatric Therapy
