As a Senior Director of Software Engineering at JPMorganChase within Connected Commerce Technology, you lead multiple technical areas, manage the activities of multiple departments, and collaborate across technical domains.

Your expertise is applied cross-functionally to drive the adoption and implementation of technical methods within various teams and aid the firm in remaining at the forefront of industry trends, best practices, and technological advances.

Job responsibilities


* Set strategic direction for all aspects of engineering and architecture across your area product.


* Engage with business stakeholders to break down complex and ambiguous problems into technical specifications that an engineering team can implement under your guidance.


* Sets and scales multi-department strategy for agentic AI-enabled engineering and SDLC/TLM automation (using enterprise-authorized tools within the work environment) to drive firmwide objectives (speed, scalability, reliability, and cost-to-serve), including portfolio-level standards for AI-orchestrated delivery workflows, release governance, automated test modernization, resilience engineering, and incident response acceleration; establishes guardrails for validation, security, resiliency, traceability, and reuse.


* Champion engineering practices; Improve the effectiveness of the Engineering teams through coaching, mentoring and resolution of impediments


* Partner with Architecture and SRE team for driving Non Functional Requirements, Modernization initiatives and controls


* Lead and participate in regular technical meetings, ensuring that architectural decisions align with the broader organizational goals and strategy.


* Create and maintain detailed technology roadmaps with corresponding work streams and stakeholders, ensuring all solutions and requirements are clearly understood and communicated


* Carries governance accountability for coding decisions, control obligations, and measures of success such as cost of ownership, maintainability, and portfolio operations


* Influences peer leaders and senior stakeholders across the business, product, and technology teams


* Makes decisions that influence teams' resources, budget, tactical operations, and strategic bets


* Carries governance accountability for technology decisions, regulatory compliance, and control obligations

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills


* Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 10+ years applied experience.

In addition, 5+ years of experience leading technologists to manage, anticipate and solve complex technical items within your domain of expertise.
