Position Summary

Under the direction and supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist, the Physical Therapist Assistant will assist in implementing individualized treatment plans designed to improve residents' mobility, strength, balance, and overall functional independence.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities


* Assist with implementing physical therapy treatment programs as established by the Physical Therapist.


* Provide therapeutic exercises, gait training, transfer training, and other prescribed interventions.


* Monitor resident progress and communicate changes to the supervising Physical Therapist.


* Accurately document treatment sessions and resident responses in accordance with facility policies and regulatory requirements.


* Collaborate with nursing, therapy, and interdisciplinary team members to support resident goals and outcomes.


* Educate residents and family members on exercises and mobility techniques as appropriate.


* Maintain a safe, clean, and professional treatment environment.

Qualifications


* Current Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) license in the State of California.


* Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program.


* Skilled nursing facility or geriatric rehabilitation experience preferred.


* Strong communication and interpersonal skills.


* Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.


* Passion for resident-centered care and rehabilitation.
