Pay Range: $17.50-$18.00 per hour, based on experience

Arvin Post Acute is seeking a dependable and experienced Part-Time Cook to join our dietary team.

The Cook is responsible for preparing nutritious, appetizing meals while following resident dietary requirements, approved menus, and food-safety standards.
Responsibilities


* Prepare and serve meals according to approved menus and portion guidelines


* Accurately prepare special and therapeutic diets


* Ensure food is presented in an appealing and timely manner


* Record food temperatures and maintain required documentation


* Maintain a clean, safe, and sanitary kitchen and cooking area


* Follow proper food-handling, storage, and infection-control procedures


* Assist with meal service and cleaning of equipment, work areas, and serving carts


* Work cooperatively with dietary staff and other departments


* Report resident dietary concerns to the appropriate supervisor


* Follow all facility policies and state and federal regulations

Qualifications


* Previous cooking experience preferred; healthcare or long-term care experience is a plus


* Ability to prepare meals in large quantities


* Knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices


* Ability to follow recipes, menus, and special-diet instructions


* Reliable, organized, and able to work effectively as part of a team


* Food handler certification as required
