What You'll Be Doing: The purpose of the Quality Engineer is to plan and direct activities concerned with development, application, and maintenance of quality standards for industrial processes, materials and products.
Essential Duties/Responsibilities: Develop and initiate standards and methods for process control, process improvement, inspection, testing, and evaluation.
Suggest and implement changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase safety and efficiency of the shop floor, department, or production workforce.
Lead and facilitate PFMEA sessions to identify potential risks in manufacturing processes.
Develop and maintain risk mitigation strategies to ensure robust process controls.
Ensure compliance with aerospace and electronics industry standards.
Root Cause & Corrective Action (RCCA): Investigate nonconformances, customer complaints, and internal quality issues.
Applying structured problem-solving methodologies (e.g., 8D, Ishikawa, 5 Whys).
Implement corrective and preventive actions to eliminate recurrence.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure compliance with customer and industry standards.
Continuous Improvement: Utilize Lean Six Sigma tools to improve yield, reduce defects, and optimize processes.
Drive initiatives to enhance product reliability and customer satisfaction.
Compile, write and deliver training material on quality standards and activities.
Develop, apply and maintain quality requirements and standards for development and manufacturing products.
Develop and maintain performance monitors for productivity and quality for area of responsibility.
Analyze processes and operations to determine problem areas and take corrective action.
Develop, execute and analyze quality reporting measures.
Report to management on quality issues, trends and losses.
Participate in internal and external quality audits.
Interface with customer quality representatives.
Serve as Quality Engineer representative to the Materials Review Board (MRB).
Quality Systems & Compliance: Support AS9100, ISO 9001, and customer-specific quality requirements.
Obtain and maintain certifications for J-STD 001, IPC 610 & IPC 620.
