Job Summary
The ideal candidate in this role will perform a wide range of duties in an industrial Steel Fabrication and Manufacturing environment.
This maintenance mechanic will be responsible for ensuring all equipment is operating safely and efficiently by completing preventative maintenance requirements, repairing equipment, following diagrams, reading operations manuals, troubleshooting malfunctions, coordinating with external vendor support, maintaining records, and organizing spare parts/tools.
Job Responsibilities
* Adhere to safety protocols and procedures, including lockout/tagout, arc flash safety, and other relevant safety measures, to ensure a safe working environment
* Perform preventive maintenance tasks on machinery and equipment to ensure optimal performance and reliability
* Troubleshoot and diagnose issues with automation systems, electrical components, mechanical equipment, and hydraulic systems
* Repair or replace defective parts, components, or systems, utilizing knowledge of automation, electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic principles
* Install, configure, and calibrate automation systems, including programmable logic controllers (PLCs), sensors, actuators, and other control devices
* Conduct inspections and tests on machinery and equipment to identify potential problems and implement corrective actions proactively
* Collaborate with production personnel and management to address maintenance issues promptly and efficiently
* Document maintenance activities, including repairs, inspections, and preventive maintenance
* Stay updated with advancements in automation technology, electrical systems, mechanical engineering, and hydraulic systems through ongoing training and professional development
* Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance equipment reliability, efficiency, and performance
* Coordinate work plans with Shop Foremen and Management
