We are searching for the best talent for a Facilities Maintenance Mechanic I in San Angelo, TX.

This position is under a Collective Bargaining Agreement in a union environment and the hourly rate is $28.34/hr

Responsibilities:


* The Facilities Mechanic is accountable to apply trade knowledge and familiarity with plant and equipment for leading a continuous improvement program on specified equipment.

This will include recommending, and participating in equipment improvements, and the ability to work and communicate well with others.


* As a Facilities Mechanic, you will be responsible for ensuring continued support for all aspects of the site related to Facilities needs.


* Support any facilities project needs within the site.

Required Qualifications:


* Associates degree or equivalent.


* 0-2 years of relevant experience.


* Completion of electrical and/or mechanical technical certification from an accredited institution or a combination of education and work experience in the field.



* Records meter and gauge readings as specified and checks and records quantities of materials and supplies, such as fuel oil, gas, chemicals, etc.


* Thoroughly investigates any malfunctioning equipment and initiates the appropriate repairs.


* Tours entire plant to check operation of thermostats, radiators, exhaust fans, air-conditioning units, etc.

Opens, closes, or adjusts valves, switches, etc.

to secure or maintain desired temperatures in each area.


* As required, checks operation of water pumps, performs PM and adjusts pressure controls as needed.
