Abiomed Inc.

は、経皮的•経血管的に挿入が可能なカテ-テル型の補助人工心臓(pVAD:percutaneous Ventricular Assist Device)であるImpella(インペラ)を主力製品とし、患者さんの救命と自己の心機能の回復を目指しています。日本においては、2013年に日本法人(日本アビオメッド株式会社:東京都中央区日本橋室町2-2-1 室町東三井ビルディング12階)を設立し、2016年9月のImpella 補助循環用ポンプカテ-テル(Impella 2.5/5.0)ならびにImpella 制御装置の薬事承認取得と2017年9月の保険収載を経て2017年10月より臨床において使用され、全国の240施設を越える医療機関に導入され、1万例以上の実績のある治療となっています(2024年3月末時点)。その間、Impella CP、Impella CP SmartAssist、Impella 5.5 SmartAssist、Impella 5.5 SmartAssist 2nd Generationといった新しいテクノロジ-を搭載したポンプカテ-テルの導入や、Impella Connectと呼ばれる遠隔モニタリングサ-ビスの導入など、顧客のユ-ザビリティ-を高め、患者予後をさらに向上させるための改良を重ねてきました。
