Job Responsibilities


* Applies technical knowledge to assignments with a defined scope, including testing infrastructure performance, verifying requirements were met, and collecting and analyzing monitoring data in test and production through completion


* Drives results, collects and analyzes monitoring data in test and production, and sees assignments through to completion


* Uses enterprise-authorized AI capabilities within the work environment to accelerate infrastructure analysis and documentation (e.g., summarizing monitoring findings), validating outputs and handling data according to sensitivity and security requirements.


* Carries out day to day work assignments with some guidance and within documented parameters, developing considerations for upstream and downstream data and systems or technical implications


* Escalates issues to appropriate leadership

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills


* Formal training or certification on infrastructure engineering concepts and 2+ years applied experience


* Working knowledge of using enterprise-authorized AI capabilities within the work environment to support infrastructure engineering workflows with strong validation habits and awareness of data sensitivity.


* Ability to review and validate AI-assisted recommendations before use, escalating when uncertain and following security and data handling expectations.


* Own day-to-day administration of CA View and CA Spool in a JES2 z/OS environment (STCs, PROCs, PARMLIB members, runtime libraries).


* Configure and maintain JES2 SYSOUT capture/selection, routing, and retention rules (output classes/forms/DEST, report identification and indexing).


* Manage JES2 writer/output queue integration to ensure reliable report capture, archival, online viewing, and distribution/printing where used.


* Troubleshoot missing/late/duplicate reports, writer stalls, spool saturation, class routing issues, and CA View/Spool task abends; deliver RCA and fixes.


* Perform SMP/E maintenance (HOLDDATA review, APPLY/ACCEPT PTFs) and execute upgrades with validation and rollback plans.


* Implement and administer security controls (RACF/ACF2/TSS): report access profiles, command controls, auditing, and least-privilege roles.
