Position Overview
The Manager, Data Engineering is a self-directed technical leader responsible for managing the design, development, and delivery of scalable, enterprise data solutions.
This role leads the planning and implementation of data engineering initiatives across the full lifecycle-from requirements definition through deployment and support-while ensuring alignment with enterprise data strategy and business priorities.
The Manager, Data Engineering will facilitate the definition of data solutions, technical architecture, and delivery plans while ensuring high standards of data quality, governance, and security.
This role partners cross-functionally with business stakeholders, analytics teams, and IT functions to deliver reliable, high-quality data products.
The ideal candidate is a pragmatic, analytical leader with strong technical expertise and excellent communication skills.
He/she will drive collaboration across teams, influence stakeholders, and ensure successful execution of complex data initiatives while maintaining delivery timelines, quality standards, and operational controls.
This role offers the opportunity to lead and shape enterprise-scale data and analytics capabilities within CRH.
The successful candidate will work with modern cloud technologies and a forward-looking data platform while partnering with a collaborative, high-impact team driving data transformation across the organization.

Key Responsibilities (Essential Duties and Functions)

* Lead the design, development, and implementation of scalable, reusable data pipelines and data products
* Translate business requirements into technical solutions in collaboration with stakeholders and analytics teams
* Define scope, milestones, and deliverables aligned with strategic business priorities
* Establish and enforce engineering best practices, including modular design, testing frameworks, and CI/CD pipelines
* Ensure high standards of data quality, governance, lineage, and auditability across all solutions
* Manage end-to-end delivery of data engineering initiatives using agile or hybrid methodologies
* Identify and manage dependencies, risks, and issues, developing mitigation plans as needed
* Oversee release management processes, including planning, scheduling, and deployment across environments
