Distribution Center Shipping Lead
Distribution Center Shipping Lead Reports To: Warehouse Supervisor or Designee Location: Phoenix, AZ Job Summary: The DC Shipping Lead, coordinates and motivates their team in order preparation, picking and packing, and ensuring cut-off is achieved to meet customer and company requirements.
Ensures team uses proper packing procedures and that adequate packing supplies and equipment are available.
Monitors performance of team members and provides feedback to management, recognizing training needs to ensure team is prepared.
Contributes to maintaining a safe working environment, according to established safety procedures and advises management of issues that affect the efficiency of the operation.
Primary Responsibilities: Daily duties include, coordinating the timely and accurate shipment of inventory to customers and storefronts, review incoming orders promptly, ensuring all customer requirements are met, inspect and address quality holds prior to shipment, route orders according to customer requirements, destination and designated carrier, ensure orders are shipped accurately, on time, and in full, contact carriers to schedule pickups based on customer preferences, routing requirements, or destination, process and ship transfer orders, ensuring all staging and shipment confirmations are completed each day.
Will also daily, monitor and report all collect and customer-routed orders at the end of each day updating ship-by dates promptly.
Maintain accurate records and documentation, maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area in accordance with company and safety standards.
Communicate shipping issues, delays, or discrepancies to the appropriate personnel in a timely manner.
Experience: · Minimum of two-years shipping experience in a warehouse or distribution center · Knowledge of distribution processes (shipping, receiving, and inventory and quality control) · Experience with Radio Frequency (RF) scanners · Ability to use Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) and Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) systems.
Knowledge of Epicor 10 a plus · Familiar with warehouse safety regulations Skills/Requirements: · Ability to lead, problem solve, meet team goals · Certified forklift driver, specifically Reach Truck · Able to use a computer · Well organized and detail oriented · Able to read and comprehend product descriptions, labels, and other product documents · Ability to understand and perform basic math to ensure accurate product quantities · Demonstrated ability to communicate both verbally and in writing · Able to lift up to 50 pounds consistently throughout the shift · Abides by all established organizational policies, rules, and regulations · Performs other related duties as assigned Education: High school diploma or equivalent
