Legislative Counsel
Duties andResponsibilities: In addition to performing any duties that may be assigned by the Director of Legislative Affairs, the Legislative Counsel is responsible for the following: 1.
Assisting with developing and implementing advocacy strategies to advance the legislative positions of the PBA.
2.
Engaging and negotiating with legislators and stakeholders on pending legislation.
3.
Participating in regular meetings of PBA committees and sections, reporting on pending legislation and other matters of interest in the General Assembly.
4.
Reviewing legislation and, as appropriate, referring legislation to PBA committees and sections for further review.
5.
Advising PBA committees and sections and assisting in development of proposed legislative positions.
6.
Drafting letters conveying the PBA's position on pending legislation and articles for various PBA publications.
