Communications and Development Intern

Communications & Development Intern Position Type: Unpaid Internship Schedule: Part-time (20h / week) Location: Hybrid Job Description: The Communications & Development Intern will participate in an unpaid job experience to gain exposure in a mental health nonprofit setting.

This role allows the intern to learn about workflows, innovation, administration, communications, and operations under professional supervision, as well as hands-on ownership of selected campaigns and projects in diverse areas.

Responsibilities: 1.

Administrative Assistance Taking notes during the Innovation Team meetings and sending a recap to the team on the same day (template will be provided) 2.

Development Logging donations into Bloomerang in a timely manner and making sure automated acknowledgement was sent through the system once trained Assist with operations and logistics of the Minds at Work event Take ownership of the Winter Donation campaign in collaboration with the Development, Communications, and Programs teams Assist with the Year End Appeal Campaign Help craft the Development Newsletter under the Director of Communications' supervision 3.

Communications Help craft the Internal Staff Newsletter under the Director of Communications' supervision Research, draft, and design engaging content for social media platforms, following the organization's monthly content calendar Assist with tracking and reporting key social media engagement metrics Perform simple edits in flyers and materials (editing date, location, and other information in existing templates) Review content to help ensure it meets brand guidelines before distribution Assist with custom printing quotes such as flyers and banners, acting as liaison between the agency and the vendor, under the Director of Communications' supervision Provide creative input on communications campaigns and initiatives as needed Work on Comms Requests assigned by the Director of Communications Opportunities: Introduction to different areas, roles, and workflows within the organization Observing the Innovation Board Meetings Participating in the Belonging & Wellbeing Committee Participating in the quarterly All-Staff meetings Professional development and training opportunities as available Qualifications: Student or recent graduate interested in working at a mental health nonprofit setting No prior experience required Professional, respectful, and eager to learn Capable of taking ownership of assigned projects Ability to follow safety and confidentiality guidelines Applicable background screenings Familiarity with Canva or other design tools is a plus Important Note: This is an unpaid job position and does not replace paid staff or involve independent patient care.
