PRIMARY FUNCTION:

In this position you will perform traffic control and flagging activities as needed; follow safety rules and regulations on all work zone and flagging sites, including placing signs, barricades, traffic cones and other warning devices.

Duties may vary according to job assignment.

The candidate should think clearly, no matter the stress or difficulty of circumstances.

You will interact with public, supervisors, and coworkers professionally at all times.

This position reports directly to the Paving Foreman.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:


* Ensure a safe work environment in compliance with all safety policies and procedures using the appropriate tools and equipment for the task;


* Properly follow all company policies and OSHA / MSHA regulations for safe working procedures and environment;


* Be physically able, mentally alert, and capable of giving directions to the motoring public;


* Guide traffic safely through the work area;


* Protect the lives of workers;


* Avoid unreasonable delays to motorists;


* Answer motoring public questions courteously and intelligently;


* Wear approved safety apparel for flagging such as hard hat and safety vest while flagging;


* Maintain a clean and neat appearance and will not distract moto...
