Event Support Assistant

About the Role Join our Parks & Recreation team and help bring community events to life! The City of Kentwood is seeking an Event Support Assistant to provide hands-on support for a variety of rental events and programs.

In this role, youll play a key part behind the scenes, helping set up, support, and break down events while ensuring everything runs smoothly, safely, and according to plan.

If you enjoy staying active, working as part of a team, and being involved in exciting community events, this is a great opportunity for you What Youll Do Assist with setup and teardown of event equipment, including tables, chairs, tents, stages, barricades, and signageLoad, unload, transport, and organize event supplies and materialsArrange event layouts based on diagrams or supervisor instructionsAssemble and disassemble basic event equipment, ensuring safety and stabilityMaintain cleanliness and organization of event spaces before, during, and after eventsProvide on-site support during events, including adjusting setups and assisting staff as neededFollow safety procedures and use proper lifting techniques and protective equipmentReport equipment issues, safety concerns, or supply needs to supervisorsWork collaboratively with staff, volunteers, vendors, and community partnersDeliver friendly, professional service when interacting with the public and event participants About You Youre reliable, energetic, and enjoy hands-on work in a fast-paced environment.
