Process Engineer - Injection Molding

We are seeking a Process Engineer to provide technical support to Operations, Quality, Design Engineering, and Maintenance in resolving manufacturing issues and driving continuous process improvement.

This role uses lean manufacturing principles, problem-solving methods, and robust process development to improve efficiency, quality, and profitability.

What You Will Do:


* Support processing and set up teams to improve daily efficiency and continuous improvement efforts


* Participate in product launches to ensure a smooth transition from launch to production


* Contribute to PFMEA activities for new product launches


* Implement process improvements, affecting scrap, labor, and downtime


* Lead continuous improvement and cost-saving initiatives using Lean and Six Sigma tools such as 6S, SMED, and error-proofing


* Identify root causes and implement permanent corrective actions for process-related customer rejections to prevent recurrence


* Communicate with suppliers and customers regarding processing materials and equipment


* Lead investigation teams focused on scrap reduction, process improvement, and cycle time reduction


* Establish and maintain robust production processes for each mold


* Establish and maintain optimal machine settings for each mold


* Establish and maintain process standards for raw material dryers


* Provide technical support and training to the processing and molding departments


* Provide problem-solving and engineering support to Tool Room, Maintenance, and Molding

 

What You Need to Be Successful:


* Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical, Industrial, or Manufacturing Engineering from an accredited college or university, or equivalent injection molding processing experience


* Minimum 10 years of related manufacturing experience


* Knowledge of thermoplastic morphologies and their properties


* Understanding of polymer chain degradation and its causes and effects


* Fundamentals of Systematic Molding certification


* Master Molder 1 certification


* Master Molder 2 certification
