Group Events Coordinator

I.

JOB SUMMARY The Group Events Coordinator will develop, plan and deliver group events in order to further the mission of MCHS and its program, The Fowler Center, a year-round camp for people of all ages with disabilities.

The Coordinator will be responsible for marketing and providing various TFC programs to the community and recruit, coordinate, and oversee volunteer groups.

The Group Events Coordinator will be highly skilled in organizing, building relationships and multitasking and will work occasional evenings and weekends depending on the scheduling of group events.

DUTIES & ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS Ensure delivery of creative, innovative and fun programs to participants in day programs, school field trip programs and rental groups.

Market The Fowler Center to potential rental groups, schools and the community at large.

Research vendors and make selections based on their quality and cost.

Consistently observe program staff during all group events where TFC staff are needed; provide guidance to independent contractors, community members, rental groups and volunteers while on-site.Model, teach and uphold the MCHS code of conduct and protect the well-being of campers and program participants.Ensure excellent public relations and customer service.Develop and implement schedules for all areas of group events and facility rentals year-round.Responsible for volunteer recruitment as well as assisting in ongoing camper recruitment, including distribution of program marketing materials and presentations to targeted groups.Maintain necessary records and complete required forms and reports in a timely manner.Coordinate facility preparation for rental groups.Work with the Equestrian Program Supervisor to coordinate group events in the Equestrian Center.Assist the Program Coordinator at times by accompanying travel adventure groups.

Attend training sessions and maintain necessary certificates of attendance/compliance.

Demonstrate commitment to the social sector with a passion for MCHSs mission and vision.Perform other duties as assigned.

III.

BASIC COMPETENCIES Education and Experience: Bachelors degree in human behavioral science, Therapeutic Recreation, Recreation, or related discipline preferred.Experience with event planning and organizing required.Experience in working with people with disabilities highly preferred.Certification in high/low ropes course or ability to attain preferred.Previous experience at a recreational facility preferred.Waterfront lifeguard, CPR and first aid certifications or ability to attain required.Must meet the States Moral Character standard.

Knowledge Requirements: Strong computer and software applications (MS Office, Camp Wise).

Maintain a valid drivers license and driving record that is acceptable and meets requirements of the agencys insurance carrier.
