Production Manager
Job Summary The Production/Site Manager is responsible for the safe, efficient, and profitable operation of the production facility or site.
The role oversees daily operations, manages employees, ensures production targets are achieved, maintains quality standards, and drives continuous improvement while ensuring compliance with all health, safety, and environmental regulations.
Key Responsibilities Manage the day-to-day operations of the production site to achieve productivity, quality, and financial objectives.
Plan, organize, and monitor production schedules to meet customer requirements and delivery deadlines.
Lead, coach, and develop production supervisors and operational staff.
Monitor production performance through key performance indicators (KPIs) and implement corrective actions where necessary.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives using Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other operational excellence methodologies.
Manage labor, equipment, and material resources to maximize efficiency and minimize waste.
Develop and manage site budgets, operating costs, and capital expenditure projects.
Ensure equipment is properly maintained through preventative maintenance programs.
Work closely with sales, engineering, procurement, logistics, and customer service teams to optimize operations.
Investigate production issues, identify root causes, and implement sustainable solutions.
Maintain inventory accuracy and oversee material flow throughout the facility.
Foster a positive workplace culture focused on accountability, teamwork, and employee engagement.
Recruit, train, and conduct performance evaluations for site personnel.
Prepare operational reports and present performance updates to senior management.
Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Operations Management, Business, or a related discipline (preferred).
510+ years of manufacturing or production management experience.
Previous experience leading teams in a production or industrial environment.
Strong understanding of production planning, quality systems, and supply chain operations.
Experience managing budgets and operational performance.
Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, Kaizen, or continuous improvement methodologies.
Proficiency with ERP systems and Microsoft Office applications.
