Scope of Responsibility: This positionperforms duties required for the movement of raw, in-process and finished steel products throughout the fabrication process either by forklift operations or manually.

This position is also responsible for safely operating the saw and punch of all beams as required by the blue prints.

Essential Duties: Manually stack or move steel products up to 75 lbs or use forkliftOperate heavy equipment in beam area, such as forklifts and machineryBreak down bundles of steel beams and loads on holding tablePrepare steel beams and measure exact length before it is cut to specificationsMove beams by hand to feed into the punch, actuate the punch and move loaded bundles down the conveyor where needed for punchesInspect, measure and adjust punch hole patternsMove product to and from storage or production areas by hand or using forkliftsTag and place material for identificationRecord number of units handled or moved, using daily production sheets or work ticketsInspect all equipment prior to use (forklifts, punch machine, conveyors, electric saw, etc.)Operate the robot and maintain the robot operation and area, if applicableUse good judgment, follow instructions and have good problem-solving abilitiesRely on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the jobRead work orders or receive oral instructions to determine work assignments or material or equipment needsInform Lead and Supervisor of any quality concerns, equipment failures or concernsPerform housekeeping activities to keep the work area and equipment clean and organizedAdditional duties as assigned by Supervisor and/or Management Position Requirements: Experience using forklifts highly preferredRegular, consistent & timely attendance is requiredMust know, or be able to learn, how to read a tape measure and blue printsMust be able to understand basic EnglishKnowledge of basic shop mathematics, addition, subtraction, fractions and decimalsExcellent attention to detail and strong ability to multi-taskHigh School Diploma, or equivalent preferred Physical Requirements: Heavy work.
