Finish Process Engineer (Jasper, IN)
We are seeking an experienced Process Engineer to drive innovation and lead the company's finish initiatives.
This is a hands-on supervisory role where you will have the opportunity to manage and improve all aspects of our finishing processes, including selecting/evaluating finish materials and applications methods, R&D, and quality control.
You will be responsible for defining process specifications, troubleshooting issues, and ensuring products meet customer expectations for quality and durability.
This position reports directly to the Director, Process Engineering & Finish and directly supervises two Finish Technicians.
• Process Management & Development: Oversee, optimize, consolidate and document all existing finishing processes.
Develop and implement new technologies and manufacturing process improvements that enhance product performance, reduce costs, and meet quality standards.• Team Leadership: Supervise and mentor two Finish Technicians.
Delegate tasks, provide guidance on best practices, and support professional development to maintain a high-performing team.• Vendor Management: Serve as the primary contact for finish vendor partners.
Manage relationships and ensure vendors consistently meet standards.• Quality & Continuous Improvement: Implement and maintain robust quality control procedures for finished products.
Use data-driven analysis to identify and resolve finish process issues, reduce defects, and increase yield.
Identify and lead continuous improvement initiatives related to finish materials, application techniques, new technologies and innovation, etc.• Product & Customer Support: Provide technical consultation to internal sales and marketing teams and, when needed, to customers• Safety & Compliance: Ensure all finishing processes and materials comply with company safety protocols and environmental regulations• Facilitate finish strategy meetings, ensuring all key stakeholders are aligned and actions are documented; drive collaboration among stakeholders to define and document process plans in meetings• Willingness and ability to travel as needed for the purpose of professional development, vendor visits, recruitment events, etc.
