Environmental Health & Safety Manager

About the Role
The Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Manager is responsible for leading and continuously improving the organization's environmental, health, safety, security, and regulatory compliance programs.

This role serves as a strategic partner to plant leadership by fostering a culture where safety, environmental stewardship, and employee well-being are core values and operational priorities.

How You Will Make An Impact


* Champion injury and incident prevention initiatives that reduce workplace risk and improve overall safety performance.


* Maintain all required EHS programs, documentation, permits, records, inspections, monitoring activities, training records, and regulatory reports.


* Manage site safety programs, including performance measurement, risk reduction, incident prevention, and continuous improvement initiatives.


* Lead investigations of workplace incidents, injuries, near misses, and environmental events to identify root causes and implement corrective actions.


* Coordinate medical management activities and partner with healthcare providers to ensure appropriate treatment, reporting, and return-to-work outcomes.


* Partner with Engineering, Operations, and Maintenance teams to evaluate equipment, processes, and facility changes for EHS compliance and risk reduction.


* Support new product, process, and facility initiatives from an environmental and safety perspective.


* Lead facility emergency preparedness programs, drills, and crisis response activities.


* Prepare and communicate EHS metrics, trends, and performance updates to leadership.

The Essentials


* Education


* Bachelor's degree in Environmental, Occupational Health and Safety, Operations, Manufacturing, or Engineering required.


* 5+ years of EHS experience in manufacturing environment.


* Experience in managing/handling compliance issues, permitting for all media, manufacturing operations, OSHA/EPA programs, regulatory reviews, permit preparation, reporting and record keeping.


* Knowledgeable in hazard identification, auditing, and inspections; conducting EHS training; OSHA 300 and internal record-keeping and related governmental reporting requirements.


* A solid demonstratable working knowledge and experience in evaluating/interpreting OSHA, EPA and DOT regulations and NFPA, ANSI, ASTM, ASME, BOMA and BOCA standards.


* Experience with Federal, state and local Worker's Compensation law.


* Prior experience establishing proactive Ergonomics Program.


* Proficient user in Microsoft Office Suite.


* Strong communication, leadership, training, analytical and organizational skills.
